Arsenal reject Nottingham Forest's £25m bid for Eddie Nketiah as talks continue over signing the striker

Arsenal have rejected a £25m bid from Nottingham Forest for striker Eddie Nketiah, talkSPORT understands.

The 25-year-old has been put up for sale after falling down the pecking order Mikel Arteta.

Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are the favourites ahead of the English international who will play an international match in the Emirates.

Nketiahwho is tied to north London until 2027, was an unused substitute in Arsenal's 2-0 opening-day win over Wolves.

His future has been uncertain all summer, with French giants Marseille receiving multiple rejected offers from the Gunners for his services.

Roberto De Zerbi's side had a £17m bid rejected last month, before suffering a £23m bid rejected.

At the time, Bournemouth were believed to be interested in the striker to replace Dominic Solanke, but they signed Evanilson from Porto instead.

And now Forest They have tried their luck at signing Nketiah, and have made him their main target.

Despite a £25m plus add-ons offer being rejected, negotiations between Arsenal and the east Midlands outfit are continuing.

Earlier in the summer, talkSPORT revealed how Arsenal valued the Hale End graduate in a a whopping £50 million.

But since then they have been forced to lower their demands as they have been unable to find anyone willing to accept them.

The Premier League title contenders are now understood to be seeking a fee of between £30m and £35m.

Nketiah has scored 38 goals in 168 appearances for Arsenal since breaking into the first team.

Forest have also set their sights on Feyenoord's Santiago Gomez as an attacking option to provide competition for Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood.

However, Steve Cooper has identified Nketiah as his top priority.

Nketiah broke into the Arsenal first team under manager Arsene Wenger during the 2017/18 season.

In 168 matches across all competitions, he has scored 38 times.

But he has not scored since December 2023, when he scored in a 1-1 draw against PSV in the Champions League.

And it's also the year since his last Premier League goals, where he scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Sheffield United in October 2023.
