According Insider information about football, West Ham United are considering a late signing for Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
The Hammers strengthened their centre-forward department with the signing of Nicolas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund this month, but are looking to recruit another quality striker ahead of the transfer deadline.
Abraham has been added to the 'wanted list' and West Ham are likely to push for a deal before the transfer window closes on August 30. Danny Ings could leave if the 26-year-old moves to the London Stadium.
Possible agreement
The England international has started his fourth season with the Giallorossi. He shone in his first campaign with 27 goals, but in the following campaign he only scored nine. Abraham suffered a serious knee injury in the last Serie A match.
He Chelsea The former player made his long-awaited return in April this year and Abraham could now consider a new challenge elsewhere. Artem Dovbyk is Roma's first-choice striker and Abraham may not be part of the starting line-up any time soon.
A return to the Premier League It could be a tempting option for him, with Roma currently interested in him. £25 million for sale, but the Hammers hope to sign him for less during the final stages of the transfer window.
Abraham, who won the Champions League With Chelsea in 2021, he has attributes that suit manager Julen Lopetegui's style of play. He has a good aerial presence in attack and also has the ability to combine plays.
He is more of a traditional striker, but can also run in behind opposing defences thanks to his great speed. West Ham have spent a lot of money to support their new manager and we would not be surprised if there was another last-minute outlay.
West Ham recently signed Fullkrug, who can provide a physical presence in attack, but Lopetegui may want another solid competitor in his ranks, considering the likes of Ings and Michail Antonio are no longer at their best.
