Leicester's Jamie Vardy leaves fans laughing after equalling Antony's stat in Premier League match
Jamie Vardy is back in the Premier League doing what he does best: drinking energy drinks and scoring goals.
Vardy once again proved that he is the man for the big moments, despite being 37 years old (and we have to talk about impact).
Despite not playing a single minute in pre-season, the 37-year-old surprised his old enemy, Tottenham.
In the 57th minute, he headed in Leicester's equaliser as the Foxes secured a surprise 1-1 draw.
The goal was unexpected given that Vardy was having difficulties getting into the team, according to the coach. Steve Cooperhas put the form of some superstars back under the microscope.
And for Manchester United Winger Antonio is not a good read.
He struggled last season, scoring just once in 29 Premier League appearances, despite a decent start at Old Trafford when he joined for £82million from Ajax in 2022.
At the time it was the third highest transfer fee ever paid by the club after Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.
However, Antony's poor form was exposed when Vardy scored on his return to the Premier League.
One fan summed it up perfectly: “Vardy was relegated, played in the Championship, won a promotion place in the Premier League, played his first top-flight game in a year and still finished with the same number of goals as Antony.”
Another, with a smiling emoji, added: “Wait, Vardy was relegated, came back and still has the same amount of goals as Antony.”
A third said: “Vardy needed one Premier League game to equal Antony's goal tally from last season.”

It's even harder to read when you consider that Leicester paid £1m for… Vardy in May 2012, a non-league record at the time.
The difference simply makes the statistic even more striking.
Vardy's goal also cemented his place in the history books.
He had already scored the most Premier League goals by the time he was 30, but he extended his record with number 104.
