According to Christian Falk and Michel Schröer (via @MiaSanMia), Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has rejected the opportunity to move to the MLS.
In recent weeks, it has become clear that Goretzka sees his future at the Allianz Arena.
While Der Rekormeister have been attempting to force the 29-year-old out of the club, Goretzka has stated that he will fight to prove why he should be included in Vincent Kompnay’s plans for the upcoming campaign.
The former Schalke 04 midfielder has struggled for game time in pre-season but believes that when the Champions League comes around, he will be able to impress Kompnay when squad rotation is required.
Nevertheless, Charlotte FC have enquired about the possibility of luring the 29-year-old away from Bavaria.
However, due to Goretzka’s desire to remain competitive at the highest level, the MLS side have been informed that a move this summer will not be an option.
