Dominic Solanke will miss Tottenham's clash with Everton on Saturday through injury.
The £65m signing suffered a knock in Monday's 1-1 draw at Leicester City and has not managed to recover in time for the visit of Sean Dyche's team.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou assured fans the injury was not serious but would not guarantee his return for next weekend's trip to Newcastle.
“Dom suffered a knock in the last match. He got through the match, but the problem worsened the next day and he will not be able to play tomorrow,” said Postecoglou.
“It's an ankle injury, he got it very early, someone ran over his ankle.
“It depends on his recovery (when he returns), obviously we have the international break, but it's nothing serious.”
Postecoglou confirmed that Richarlison He is fit to start against the Toffees after his brief appearance at the King Power Stadium.
The Brazilian had been linked with a possible exit from the club before next week's transfer deadline but Solanke's injury could see him stay – for now.
Goalscorer against the Foxes, Pedro Porro, is available after limping off with a foot problem, while Rodrigo Bentancur will miss out due to concussion protocol.
Postecoglou addressed the situation surrounding Yves Bissouma, who was suspended by the club after posting a video of himself inhaling nitrous oxide on social media.
The Malian missed Spurs' opening Premier League game, however Postecoglou revealed the player is available but still has work to do.
“Biss is available but we have a few options,” added the Spurs manager. “The idea of trying to reinforce the squad is for these situations.
“It is available for selection. Bridge construction continues.”
Postecoglou's side controlled the first half against Leiecster but allowed the Foxes to take the lead and earn a point.
Spurs will be hoping to draw on last season's form, where they opened with a draw at Brentford before going on a nine-match unbeaten run that took them to top spot in the autumn.
The games are coming quickly for Tottenham with trips to Newcastle and Manchester United and the North London derby against Arsenal, which will take place before the end of September.
Postecoglou will be hoping to have Solanke fit and ready for the onslaught of high-profile fixtures, as well as the return of the Europa League.
