Dani Olmo has been named in Hansi Flick's squad for Barcelona's opening home game of the 2024-25 season: against Athletic Club on Saturday. However, the 26-year-old was included on the stipulation that he was not yet registered in the League, meaning the club had hours to complete the registration.

A number of departures are imminent, and these will help Barcelona's efforts to open enough salary space for Olmo to be registered. However, they seem to have failed the task at hand.
RAC1 (via Sport) have reported that Olmo will not be available to face Athletic at the Olympic Stadium. It means Flick will be without his big-money signing for the second weekend in a row. MD also confirmed this.

This situation was rather embarrassing for Barcelonaand it's hard to imagine how Olmo must feel. The club's bosses will be desperate to ensure he is eligible to face Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas on Tuesday.
