Romeo Lavia will miss Chelsea's clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday due to an injury.
Blues Manager Enzo Maresca Last summer's £58million signing has been confirmed to be nursing a minor hamstring issue.
Maresca said the injury was not “a big concern.”
However, this is yet another game that Lavia will be missing after his injury problems in his debut season last season.
He made just one appearance in 2023/24, a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League where he played 32 minutes.
Lavia waited four months for his debut for the Blues, then suffered a thigh injury in the game against the Eagles, ruling him out once again.
The former Southampton midfielder returned to action in ChelseaThe opening match of the Premier League, which will begin against Manchester City.
He played 67 minutes of the 2-0 defeat.
Lavia then came on for the final whistle in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Servette in the European Conference League first leg of the play-off.
But having played 73 minutes, he will miss Chelsea's trip to Molineux.
Chelsea are also moving at a fast pace, as they travel to Switzerland on Thursday for the return leg of their play-off against Servette.
Lavia played 34 games with Southampton before sealing his move to Stamford Bridge last summer.
Prior to that, he had been at Manchester City, making two appearances for the senior team after briefly being in their youth system.
City pocketed £10.5m from Saints, plus £3.5m in add-ons.
“My mother never saw a game of mine at Manchester City,” Lavia previously said, reflecting on his lack of first-team opportunities when he first started out.
“That's to tell you how hard it was, but I never really complained because I knew what I was getting into, same with every decision I've made.
“It's never been a problem. Even with the injuries last season, it was difficult, but what can you do? Turn it into something positive.”
He continued: “I would say I was unlucky and tried to bounce back every time. My body failed me a couple of times.”
