Union Berlin interested in VfB Stuttgart winger Woo-Yeong Jeong

kicker reports that Union Berlin are interested in boosting their attacking options ahead of deadline day and sees VfB Stuttgart’s Woo-Yeong Jeong as a candidate.

VfB currently has 11 players to fill four positions after the arrivals of Ermedin Demirovic, El Bilal Touré, Justin Diehl, Nick Woltemade and Fabian Rieder in the summer adding on top of the already present Chris Führich, Silas, Jamie Leweling, Deniz Undav and Enzo Millot.

Jeong himself is interested in a move as he struggled for game time last season but this was mainly due to his commitment to the South Korea national team who he played for at the Asian Games as well as the Asia Cup. At the end of last season, the 24-year-old made a string of four appearances off of the bench and scored twice against Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach, helping Stuttgart finish second.

Stuttgart are likely to demand around €4m as they look to recoup the fee that they paid for Jeong last summer. He had originally joined for €2.8m but due to clauses such as his exemption from military training in South Korea, resulted in the fee increase.
