Real Madrid striker Alvaro Rodríguez at one point he looked primed for a first-team role after scoring a priceless equalizer against Atletico Madrid in La Liga. However, 18 months later, he left the Santiago Bernabeu.
The giant 20-year-old target man still spent most of his time since at Real Madrid Castilla, where he was the top scorer, but far from prolific with 10 goals. Ace for ReliefGetafe are the favorites for Rodriguez, while Alaves and Espanyol have also shown interest.
Other options in mind are Randy Nteka at Rayo Vallecano, and Mohamed Samba at Lorient. The 22-year-old scored 9 goals in 18 games for Wolfsberger in Austria, before a €5 million move to Ligue 2 last season. In his 16 appearances for Lorient, he had 8 goals and 3 assists.
Real Madrid's demands could be a stumbling block for Getafe, who are up against their salary cap this summer. MD they say Blancos want a minimum of 5 million euros, but they could ask for up to 11 million euros. They also want a 50% sell-on clause for Rodriguez. RB Leipzig and Wolfsburg are also credited with interest.
Getafe still has Borja Mayoral among their ranks, without anyone answering their questions for him. Mayoral was probably a sale they had planned for, though, and one that was likely to bring in a lot of money. Real Sociedade and Villarreal seem to have renewed their interest in the Getafe boss last season.
