Everton They have reportedly held talks with Chelsea on an agreement to sign David Datro Fofana before the end of this transfer window, according to Team talk.
The Toffees have struggled to score goals in their first two games of the season, so it seems Sean Dyche is keen on acquiring a new striker at the end of this window.
Team talk claims that Everton initially wanted to sign Armando Borja but the Albanian turned down a move to Goodison Park so they have been forced to explore alternative options and are now considering buying another Chelsea star, Fofana.
Dyche's side cannot afford to sign Fofana permanently due to their financial difficulties, so they are looking to complete his loan move and have already held talks with Enzo Maresca's side to wrap up the deal before the deadline.
The report further claims that the Merseyside club are open to cashing in on Neal Maupay and that Olympique Marseille have shown interest in signing him.
Fofana to Everton
Having joined the west London club, the 21-year-old has found it difficult to secure a place in the starting XI. He spent last season on loan at Burnley but was unable to help the Clarets maintain their top-flight status.
However, Everton are in need of a new striker as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is Dyche's first choice, but the 27-year-old's future is currently uncertain at the club as he has entered the final year of his current contract and is yet to sign an extension.
On the other hand, Beto has been signed to replace Calvert-Lewin but has not been able to demonstrate his qualities in the Premier League still.
However, Fofana, valued at around £10m by Transfer marketHe is still a young player and it remains to be seen whether he can help Everton survive relegation if he does eventually move to Goodison Park before the deadline.
Meanwhile, after two consecutive defeats, the Merseyside club will face AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League next weekend before the international break. Before that, however, they face Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup in midweek.
