Everton They were reportedly interested in signing Scott McTominay from Manchester United in the recently concluded transfer window, according to The athletic.
The Toffees initially signed Jake O'Brien, Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam earlier this summer, while Jesper Lindstrom joined the club on loan from Napoli. Additionally, Asmir Begovic was also brought in to support Jordan Pickford.
However, after a dismal start to the season, they made a couple of new signings on the final day of the deadline to provide Sean Dyche with the resources needed to help them survive relegation.
Orel Mangala has joined on loan from Olympique Lyonnais, while Armando Borja has also arrived on loan. However, the Armenian is injured and will remain sidelined for the next few weeks.
Now, The athletic Everton were interested in signing McTominay from Manchester United and were willing to offer him a pay rise to convince him to join. The Scot was in £60,000 per week in wages at Old Trafford.

The report says Everton were struggling to meet United's asking price, so they offered Dominic Calvert-Lewin in a swap deal to sign McTominay.
However, the 27-year-old was never interested in a move to Goodison Park and has instead now sealed a deadline-day move to Napoli on a 25 million pounds deal.
McTominay would have been a perfect fit to play in Dyche's pragmatic system and his ability to contribute some important goals from midfield would definitely have been helpful in their quest for survival.
However, now that he has failed to secure his signature, Dyche will have to rely on others to help him keep Everton in the market. Premier League Next season.
As well as adding new faces, Everton have also been busy selling some star players this summer as after signing Amadou Onana, they also sold Lewis Dobbin, Ben Godfrey and Neal Maupay.
