But United sources have told talkSPORT that a move to Turkey is unlikely at this stage, with his wage demands believed to be a barrier.

The Brazilian is one of United's highest earners and has two years left on his contract worth around £300,000 a week.

Reports in Türkiye suggest Casemiro is open to a move to the Super Lig if the right option becomes available as the Turkish transfer window remains open until September 13.

Galatasaray are competing in the Europa League alongside United this season.

Any move would likely be in the form of a season-long loan following the arrival of Manuel Ugarte at Old Trafford.

The Uruguayan is expected to be a key figure in United's midfield, which could see Casemiro's playing time restricted if he remains at the club.

The 32-year-old did himself no favours during Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool When he was substituted at half-time by the coach Erik the Hag.

The Brazilian star was responsible for Luis Díaz's quickfire double shortly before half-time that allowed the Reds to take complete control of the game.

United are continuing their quest to reduce the club's wage bill by offloading a number of high-wage earners.

In recent seasons, the club have parted ways with David de Gea, Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho, while slashing Cristiano Ronaldo's astronomical £400,000-a-week salary in 2022.

Casemiro, who was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the summer, has failed to replicate the form he showed in his first season at Old Trafford.

Casemiro joined United as one of the most successful midfielders in football, but has failed to replicate the form he showed at Real Madrid.

The former Real Madrid man came under intense scrutiny for his performances last season and while there was some cause for optimism earlier in the season, his awful display against Arne Slot's side could prove fatal to his United career.

The move, meanwhile, would cap an impressive week for Galatasaray, who have already secured the loan signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Galatasaray continue to build a star-studded squad as they take on Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce for supremacy in the Super Lig.

A Manchester United fan has criticised his team following their humiliating defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford and has questioned whether the club needs relegation to get back to winning ways

The Turkish giants failed to qualify for the Champions League following a 4-2 aggregate defeat to Young Boys last week.

Instead they will contest the Europa League and have been handed a league play-off tie against Tottenham in Istanbul in November.
