Union Berlin have today announced the signing of Denmark international Robert Skov after his contract at Hoffenheim expired in June. Both parties agreed not to disclose the length of the contract.
With a market value of €5m, per Transfermarkt, Skov moved to Germany in July 2019, joining Hoffenheim from Copenhagen for €10m where he went on to play 126 games across all competitions, scoring 12 and creating 24 goals.
A winger by trade, Skov was often deployed at left-wing-back in recent seasons which will be beneficial for Union Berlin following the departure of Robin Gosens to Fiorentina, a move in which the club were left blindsided by.
On his move to Union, Skov said: “I already know Union very well from the last few years in the Bundesliga.
“I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and the people and I’m now happy to be a part of it. We have a tough season ahead of us in which everyone has to give their all. I’m looking forward to it.”
Union have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season under Bo Svensson, advancing in the DFB Pokal before opening their Bundesliga campaign with a draw at Mainz, and a 1-0 win against St. Pauli in their first game at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
