Kosta Nedeljković made his senior international debut for Serbia as they played out a goalless draw against Spain on Thursday night.

The Villa right-back completed 90 minutes and helped register an impressive clean sheet in the UEFA Nations League encounter in Belgrade.

Villa team-mate Pau Torres was an unused substitute for Spain, who were playing in their first fixture since winning Euro 2024 earlier this summer.

Serbia next face Denmark while Spain travel to Switzerland, both on Sunday, in League A Group 4.

John McGinn suffered last-gasp heartbreak with Scotland as they fell to a 3-2 injury-time defeat at home to Poland.

McGinn completed 90 minutes as the Tartan Army drew level at 2-2 having been two goals down at half-time.

But a dramatic 97th-minute penalty inflicted defeat at Hampden Park in the League A Group 1 opener.

Scotland are next in action away in Portugal on Sunday.

Ian Maatsen enjoyed 90 minutes as the Netherlands continued their impressive Euro Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign with an emphatic 5-0 victory over North Macedonia.

Maatsen, who helped the Netherlands reach the semi-finals of Euro 2024, will next look to feature for Jong Oranje against Georgia on Monday.

Joe Gauci was an unused substitute for Australia as they suffered defeat in the third round group stage of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers, going down 1-0 to Bahrain in Queensland.

The Socceroos will now be looking to bounce back against Indonesia on Tuesday.
