Tottenham are interested in England newcomer Angel Gomes as the former Manchester United star's contract runs out
Tottenham are among the clubs monitoring English newcomer Angel Gomes, talkSPORT understands.
Midfielder Gomes will be a free agent when his contract ends at Lilac expires next summer.
The 24-year-old began his career in Manchester Unitedjoining his academy at the age of six.
He left for Ligue 1 in 2020 after being released by the Red Devils.
Gomes made his senior England debut during the international break against Ireland.
He came in as a substitute for Kobbie Mainoo in his team's 2-0 victory, before starting the second League of Nations Crash against Finland.
With Jude Bellingham ruled out of games due to injury, Gomes is likely to have stepped up to take his place.
The New England manager knows Gomes well from his experience as coach of the U-21 national team, with which both won the European Under-21 Championship last summer.
And his impressive performances for the Three Lions have attracted a number of clubs, including Spurs.
Gomes already has some Premier League experience despite being released by Manchester United at a young age.
He made four appearances off the bench for the Red Devils, the first of which came in the 2018/19 season.
Carsley gave a glowing review of Gomes after the clash with Finland.

He said: “He loves football, he watches football, he is interested in tactics, he knows all the players in any league.
“If you ask for feedback, you have to be prepared for feedback on the session, or on how we're going to develop, or on the positions.
“He often talks about some of the moves he's made with other clubs or what he's played against, because obviously he's playing in France, so he sees different things.
“He totally deserves it.”
