Real Madrid have had a more difficult start to the season than they might have anticipated, with injuries, a couple of draws and plenty of media attention complicating matters for Carlo Ancelotti. At the heart of the titles have been Vinicius Juniorand to a lesser extent, Rodrygo Goes.
Vinicius's statements to CNN that the 2030 World Cup should be hosted elsewhere if Spain cannot improve its record on racism have seen him become a talking point for much of the recent international break, with strong criticism from the Spanish media and even politicians. Meanwhile Ancelotti has also been answer questions about Rodrygowho has been vocal in his dissatisfaction over his lesser status than Vinicius or Kylian Mbappe, and his snub from the Ballon d'Or shortlist.
It has been reported that Real Madrid is increasingly irritated by the fact that its players seem to talk a lot more during international breaks, and at several points they have been in the middle of controversy because of it. As such, Marco say that Real Madrid has introduced a rule that all interviews must be carried out by them first, before they are done.
Although it may not be the faults of the Brazilians that have become a huge story, they certainly did not help their cause at times, and distracted from the football in hand. Vinicius thinks there is a campaign against him in Spain, and maybe a break from the press could do him good.
