During the summer, Barcelona failed to secure a new agreement with Nike, which will see the money received from their collaboration increase significantly. Crucially, it also meant that the club could not return to the 1:1 rule of the League, which meant that only Dani Olmo could be signed for the first team.

The hope of the club is to finally return to 1:1 in January, and this would allow him to sign if necessary. However, it still depends on the deal with Nike being finalized.
Barcelona are desperate to make it happen. According to Jijantes (via MD), a meeting took place between the officials of the Catalan club and Nike, as both parties aim to close closer to that desired agreement.
The deal between Barcelona and Nike has been in the pipeline for most of 2024, but still a deal is pending. There is no doubt that it will come soon as it will finally allow some financial breathing space.
