Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Real Madrid striker Endrick as a “very special player” after scoring on his Champions League debut.
The 16-year-old, an 80th minute substitute, scored Madrid’s third goal in injury time to complete a 3-1 home victory over Stuttgart.
Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger had each given Ancelotti’s side the lead either side of Deniz Undav’s goal for the visitors before Endrick put the game beyond the reach of the Bundesliga side.
“Endrick had courage, it was the last chance of the game and the best solution was to take advantage of the counter,” Ancelotti said of his goal after the match.
“He was convinced he was going to score today and he did very well. He found the most difficult solution.
“Endrick is able to do something that nobody can think of. He has this gift that is very effective. Not only in matches, but also in training. You can see that he is a very special player.”
Endrick joined Madrid from Palmeiras this summer with his strike against Stuttgart his second for the Spanish club, having also netted in a league victory over Real Valladolid last month.
