Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has added to the growing list of frustrated voices over the 2024/25 fixture schedule.

With the start of the UEFA Champions League in midweek, the subject remains at the top of the agenda as the campaign grows.

The possibility for some players to make more than 70 competitive appearances before the end of next summer has raised concerns across the board.

Two extra Champions League games, plus international breaks in October and November, added to the potential for player overload.

Flick's rival Carlo Ancelotti added his opinion on the matter, ahead of this weekend's games, asserting his confidence in players willing to take a pay cut to play less.

Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has openly stated that a player strike is an optionIf their concerns are not heard by FIFA and UEFA, and Flick believes that a reduction is needed now.

“FIFA will take care of the players. We all like to see the players at their best and that's why I think the number of matches should be reduced,” as quotes from Marco.

Barcelona's incoming schedule includes five games before the next international window in mid-October.
