Aston Villa welcome Tottenham Hotspur to B6 this afternoon for their first home game of the 2024/25 Women’s Super League season.
This afternoon marks the side’s first game at Villa Park since it was confirmed that the ground would become the team’s primary home.
Robert de Pauw’s side will also be looking for their first win of the new campaign after falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on opening day.
Villa dominated proceedings and hit the woodwork in the game’s final minute but the reigning champions’ first-half wonder strike was the difference.
Tottenham Hotspur picked up three points in their first fixture as they defeated league newcomers Crystal Palace 4-0 last weekend.
Hayley Raso’s goal after only 19 minutes got the ball rolling for the North London side with further strikes from Jessica Naz, Drew Spence and Olga Ahitnen in the second-half sealing the victory.

Aston Villa have lost just one of their last five Women’s Super League meetings with Tottenham Hotspur (W3 D1).
The Villans have won two of their last three WSL home season openers: 2-1 vs Leciester City in 2021-22 and 4-3 against Manchester United in 2022-23.
In their 4-0 win over Crystal Palace last time out, Tottenham recorder their most shots on target (17) ever in a WSL match.
The Last Meeting
A Jordan Nobbs rocket decided the fixture the last time the two sides met back in February earlier this year.
Adriana Leon put Villa ahead after 23 minutes on the clock but Spurs responded through Amy James-Turner 15 minutes later.
Nobbs sealed the three points for her side away from home on the hour mark as she fired a shot from distance into the back of the net.
Team News
Anna Leat (head), Jill Baijings (back) and Georgia Mullett (hamstring) all still reamined sidelined as they continue their rehabilitations.
Robert de Pauw has also confirmed that Rachel Corsie will miss this weekend’s fixture with a knee injury.
Gabi Nunes still continues to build her training load and could be in contention to make her debut this week.
