Man City star Matheus Nunes caught in nightclub altercation before police intervene

Police were called to an altercation involving Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes at a Madrid nightclub last month.

talkSPORT understands the Portugal international was being harassed by a man with a phone at the sprawling La Riviera nightclub on September 8.

Nunes pleaded with the man to stop before taking the phone from his hand, prompting a call to local police.

However, the police decided that no further action was necessary after arriving at the scene.

Nunes was enjoying some time with friends in Spain after being left out of the Portugal squad during the most recent international break.

The 26-year-old has played six times for Manchester City this season, most recently playing the full 90 minutes during the 4-0 victory against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League.

Nunes' first start of the season came in the recent 2-1 win over Watford in the Carabao Cup, in which she scored the winning goal.
