After joining Bayer Leverkusen from Sparta Prague in 2022, the Czech international was a rotational player with Xabi Alonso. Last season they enjoyed great success at the BayArena, winning the Bundesliga title and the DFB Cup.

Leverkusen also reached the final of the european league last season, but finished runners-up after losing to Atalanta 3-0 in the final.
