manchester united travels to Villa Park on Sunday to face the high-flying Unai Emery Villa Aston in it first division as they seek to avoid a streak of four consecutive outings without winning in all competitions.
A failure to beat Villa could result in Erik ten HagAfter being sacked during the international break and with the Dutchman trying to save his job, here's a look at the Red Devils' potential starting XI.
Goalkeeper – André Onana will continue to be the goalkeeper despite having conceded six goals in his last two games. There is a serious lack of competition for his role in the team and, as a result, the Cameroonian is a fixture in every starting eleven.
Defenders – Harry Maguire He came off the bench to save a point against Porto in the european league on Thursday, but can remain on the bench against Aston Villa. Lisandro Martínez and Matthijs de Ligt are expected to play as center backs for Man Utd.
Noussair Mazraoui will start at right back and Diogo Dalot will return to a role on the left, while Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are yet to recover from their injuries.
Mainoo and Ugarte return to the center of the field
Midfielders – casemiro and Christian Eriksen will return to the bench against Aston Villa. Manuel Ugarte will return to the team and will play alongside Kobbie Mainoo, just ahead of the back four. The 19-year-old Englishman had an injury scare against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend but fears about a prolonged absence have been relieved.
Bruno Fernandes will play as an attacking midfielder and will once again captain Man Utd. Ten Hag already confirmed after the game against Porto that he plans to use Mark Rashford against Villa from the opening whistle and, therefore, will appear on the team's left back. Alejandro Garnacho is likely to start on the right side.
Forward – Rasmus Hojlund He marked his first start of the season with a goal against Porto and will make his first Premier League appearance since May against Villa. If Manchester United have any chance against the giant-killers from midweek champions league round, the Dane will have to take advantage of his opportunities.
