star of Spain Aymeric Laporte opened up about his decision to change allegiance from France to The Red.
Laporte appeared as a crucial actor for Luis de la Fuente at the heart of Spain's defense that won UEFA Euro 2024 this summer.
Despite his club trade in Saudi Arabia, the 30-year-old is still a first choice for de la Fuente, having made the decision to declare for Spain.
Laporte represented his native France from U17 to U21 level, but infamously never made a senior appearance despite calls to do so.
Didier Deschamps he refused several spells of pressure to call, as the owner of Les Blues hinted at a problem between the pair, and Laporte eventually made the decision for him.

Laporte's 37 caps make him the leader on the list of Spain's naturalized players and he is in line to start at least one of their UEFA Nations League games this month.
