Worry at Villarreal as no injury return date can be set for the in-form striker

Villarreal have made an excellent start to the season, as they currently sit in fourth place in Liga Liga with 17 points from nine games. Ayoze Perez has played a big part in his strong form, scoring six goals in his first seven appearances for the club following his summer move from Real Betis.

However, Ayoze missed Villarreal's previous two games against Las Palmas and Real Madrid. It has been reported that he is suffering with muscle problems, and the situation seems to be more serious than initially believed.

According to AS DiaryVillarreal have not been able to set a date for Ayoze's return. They hope that the international break will give him more time to get back to full fitness, but it cannot be guaranteed.

A silver lining for Villarreal is that Gerard Moreno is back in form – he missed the last six games with a hamstring injury. Barring any setbacks, he will be able to face Getafe after the international break.
