Jaden Philogene, Morgan Rogers and Samuel Iling Jr featured for England’s Under-21s as they secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ukraine on Friday night.
Philogene started for the Young Lions and played 84 minutes before being replaced by Iling Jr, while Rogers was introduced just after the hour mark at Vitality Stadium.
Trailing heading into the latter stages, England triumphed thanks to James McAtee’s late brace, levelling in the 88th minute before striking an injury-time winner.
The crucial victory leaves second-placed England now just two points behind Group F leaders Ukraine with one match remaining in their bid to qualify for next summer’s European Under-21 Championship.
England wrap up their campaign against Azerbaijan on Tuesday, hoping to top the standings and progress automatically or qualify as one of three best runners-up.
