- Aston Villa Women Vs. Leicester City Women – Sun, Oct 13th 2024, 14:00
Dan Turner was disappointed not to mark her first league start of the new campaign with a win last Sunday against Leicester City.
The defender played her first 90 minutes in the league this season in the side’s 0-0 draw with Leicester City at Villa Park.
Speaking after the game, Turner said: “Disappointed not to come away with the three points.
“A positive is that we got a clean sheet, obviously as the defenders in the team are always happy to get a clean sheet.
“But we were banging on the door in large periods, we were dominating but the ball – we just weren’t able to put it into the net.”
Villa dominated proceedings but were unable to make their chances inside the box count, but Turner believes that the goals will come for the team.
“It’s good that were getting in those positions to create the chances,” she expressed.
“It’s just now getting that next step and finding a way to convert them into goals.
“But we’ll keep working at it and I’m sure it will come.”
The side are back in action this weekend as they take on Manchester City away from home and Turner states that the team need to stick together and build on the positives.
Turner said: “We’ve just got to keep going, the performances we are putting in are good.
“We’ve just got to keep building and building and keep positive.
“Keep everyone going and I’m sure that win will eventually come.
“We’ve got a massive game away to City next week and our aim to go over there and keep another clean sheet so it’s something to build on and something to move forward with.”
