During the final stages of the summer transfer window, Atletico Madrid were determined to sign a midfielder. They considered numerous options, but in the end, none came – this also meant that Thomas Lemar ended up staying, despite the club's owners wanting him to be moved.

According to AS Diaryone player that Atleti tried to sign was Ismail Yuksek. A loan offer of 3 million euros was presented by Los Colchoneros, although Fenerbahce rejected his refusal because they only consider a sale – and this for 10 million euros.
Since Lemar almost certainly has no future at Atleti, they will look to move him in January. When he goes, a replacement will be needed, and it is believed that Yuksek is still on the club's radar.
