'Maybe something will happen': Thomas Frank leaves Brentford exit door open in interview with talkSPORT

Thomas Frank insists he is happy at Brentford but does not rule out leaving in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT.

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola sung franc hailed their 2-1 win over the Bees in September and declared it was only a “matter of time” before the Dane landed one of Europe's biggest jobs.

In a chat with talkSPORT's Jim White, Frank was asked directly about that comment from Guardiola and the constant speculation about his future.

White followed Frank's statement that he was “open” to a future move and asked the Dane what he meant by his comment.

Frank is almost part of the Brentford furniture, having joined the west London club in 2016 as assistant to then-Bees manager Dean Smith.

The Dane took over once Smith moved to Aston Villa in 2018, led Brentford to the Premier League in 2021 via the play-offs and today marks six years as manager.

Despite having one of the lowest wage bills in the top flight, Frank has led Brentford to 13th, 9th and 16th places with an attacking style of football.

Frank's ability to do wonders on a smaller budget has often linked the 51-year-old with vacancies at bigger clubs, one of which is manchester united.

However, Frank linked with United job again amid the worst start to a Premier League season in the history of the English giants.

Another factor strengthening Frank's credentials is that Thomas Tuchel, who was widely rumored to succeed Ten Hag if he was sacked, has now been appointed England manager.

But Frank was not carried away by such speculation when White asked him about United's murmurings.

“There are a lot of rumors out there,” Frank said.

“Every club, every coach, every kind of situation. I have this little principle that I never talk about players who are not in my club because I don't know them well enough. And I don't talk about speculation in any way.” “.

One management route that Frank did not close the door on was the international route.

As a child, Frank enjoyed watching the famous Denmark teams with players such as Michael Laudrup and Preben Elkjær that reached the semi-finals of Euro 1984 and qualified for the round of 16 of the 1986 World Cup.

“I have said many times that I think we are the club with the third, fourth and fifth lowest budget. So money is not everything, but it is something.
