Real Madrid is on the hunt for a right-back, probably for the summer of 2025. It seems pretty clear that Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is their main target, but then there is less clarity on their alternative plans.

Last week a list of five people for the position was revealed, and AS Diary Now they say that Bayer Leverkusen Jeremie Frimpong it is second on their priority list. His release clause of 40 million euros is undoubtedly affordable, and it is another advantage for Alexander-Arnold.

Speaking to the The Daily BriefingChristian Falk revealed that Frimpong would be open to a move for the Dutchman. Manchester United were in advanced talks with him but decided to go for Noussair Masraoui. Falk explains that now, however, Frimpong is not considered a “serious and concrete option” for Blancos at present.

Reading between the lines, it seems clear that Alexander-Arnold is an option that Real Madrid will remove before looking for alternatives. Incidentally, Liverpool have also been linked with the Dutchman in recent weeks as they consider potential alternatives to their England star. If Real Madrid miss Alexander-Arnold, then their interest in Frimpong seems to become more serious.
