Aston Villa is once again proud to show its strong support for No Room For Racism.
All Premier League fixtures between October 19-27 will be dedicated to the No Room For Racism initiative, highlighting the ongoing work carried out to tackle discrimination and promote diversity within football.
Over these match rounds, clubs and the Premier League are coming together to celebrate how diversity makes football stronger and reiterating their collective commitment to ensuring everyone feels welcome across all areas of the game.
Aston Villa will proudly display its support for No Room For Racism at Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage, and our home clash against AFC Bournemouth next weekend, while Aston Villa Women continue to take the knee ahead of all matches.
Matches will display No Room For Racism messaging throughout the stadium as well as online, while players will also take the knee ahead of kick-off before each fixture to show their unity against racial discrimination.
Football brings together communities and cultures, this diversity makes the game stronger. Football is inclusive for all, it’s everyone’s game.
This period of activity falls within the UK’s Black History Month, which has the theme of ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ and a focus on uncovering and sharing stories of black history and culture.
All 20 Premier League clubs have nominated a ‘No Room For Racism Icon’ to highlight the contribution of black, Asian and minority ethnic people in football and showcase the importance of diversity on and off the pitch.
The Premier League has commissioned artist Kingsley Nebechi to develop illustrations of the club nominees, which will feature across league and club channels, along with a range of content to demonstrate the impact they have made.
An illustration will also be produced to recognise the contribution of former Kick It Out Chair, Lord Herman Ouseley, who passed away earlier this month.

The ongoing fight against discriminatory abuse, whether it occurs within stadiums or online, remains a priority for the Premier League and clubs.
The league’s specialist investigative team continues to support players, their families and others working within football who are subjected to racism. A reporting system has been made available to clubs to host on their websites and fans can also report any racist abuse they see directed at players or others within the game at www.premierleague.com/reportracism.

Matchday reporting
If you witness discriminatory behaviour at a match or around a stadium, please report it to the police or a steward.
Supporters at Villa Park can discreetly text REPORT to 60060 along with the location of the incident and details of what you have witnessed.
The text line also includes the reporting of any safeguarding concerns.
The text service will be supported by our security team and West Midlands Police. Each text costs one standard message at your network rate. The club may share your details with West Midlands Police if further information is required to assist with a criminal prosecution.
