Bundesliga Preview | Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart – Vincent Kompany’s Bayern winless in their last three
The Bundesliga returns to action after a second international break of the season as leaders Bayern Munich host Stuttgart.
Bayern currently occupy first place in the league via goal difference, sitting on 14 points alongside RB Leipzig while Stuttgart sit eighth with nine points.
Vincent Kompany’s side have had a positive start this season as they are just one of two teams that are unbeaten so far in this campaign. However, Bayern have not won in three consecutive matches in all competitions, with their last result being a 3-3 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Stuttgart have had a much more frustrating start to their season in comparison to the start of their 2023/24 campaign as they have picked up just two wins out of a possible six so far.
Sebastian Hoeneß’ side have managed to draw all of their past three matches but are now looking to win consecutive games against Bayern Munich for the first time since 2007. The last meeting between these two teams resulted in a 3-1 win for Stuttgart back in May. They will also be looking to extend the longest active scoring run in the Bundesliga, as they have now scored in 22 consecutive matches.
Bayern Munich and Stuttgart team news
Vincent Kompany has confirmed that Jamal Musiala will not be in the squad tomorrow as he is still recovering from his hip injury. The Rekordmeister will also continue to be without Josip Stanišić, Sacha Boey and Hiroki Ito through injury, and there will be a late call on whether Dayot Upamecano will be fit enough to be a part of the squad.
Stuttgart meanwhile are suffering with a long list of injuries which includes Chris Führich, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Justin Diehl and Luca Raimund who will all be on the sidelines until at least next month. Leonidas Stergiou has been making good progress and has been involved in parts of team training. Nick Woltemade has also been back training with the group after his recent cold.
