manchester united are “moving forward” towards a possible move to sign RB Leipzig centre-forward Benjamin Šeško, according to an Italian outlet, Tuttojuve.

The 21-year-old was the subject of interest last summer with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea strongly linked to a movement. However, the striker ultimately remained at the Red Bull Arena after signing a new contract extension.

With six goals in 10 appearances in all competitions this season, the striker has once again attracted interest across Europe and Man United are looking to secure the signature of the prolific hitman.

Now, according to TuttojuveThe Red Devils are moving towards his signature and could send newcomer Joshua Zirkzee on loan to Juventus to pave the way for the potential addition of the Slovenian striker.

A host of top European clubs are also interested in signing Sesko and, although a January move appears unlikely, United are beginning to take early steps to overtake their rivals in signing him, according to the report.

Šeško's new contract with Die Roten Bullen runs until 2029 with a valuation of €50m (£41m) per Transfer market but he is expected to cost more than that due to huge interest in the striker across Europe.

United need a prolific striker like Šeško

Manchester United's front line has been far from impressive since the start of the season. So far they have only scored seven goals, the lowest of any team in history. first division first 16.

United's centre-forward duo Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have only contributed to two goals in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Šeško has been flying high this season, scoring in every competition he has played in.

The Slovenian striker is currently one of the most prolific attackers in Europe this season and it is no surprise that United are in the running for his signature to help improve their lackluster forward line.

Šeško possesses a combination of speed, physicality and strong aerial control. He can best be described as the “complete package” with no visible weaknesses.

His incorporation would undoubtedly improve Erik ten Hag's and would give the Dutchman the opportunity to also have a prolific striker in his team.

Leipzig will undoubtedly demand a lot of money from the prolific hitman and United could be willing to spend a lot of money to land the striker.
