Crystal Palace are still searching for their first win of the Premier League season, having suffered a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game in the 65th minute when his low speculative drive managed to wriggle under the hands of Eagles goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The visiting team had their chances before Wood's goal, with the most notable opportunity being Eberechi Eze's long-range shot that was saved by Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels off the crossbar.

And Sels did it brilliantly, deflecting Jeffrey Schlupp's shot in the 81st minute away from goal.

Forest also hit the woodwork with Wood's shot from close range in the first half ricocheting off Palace's post.

The defeat means Oliver Glasner's side finish the weekend in 18th place in the Premier League table without having recorded a win in their eight league games so far.

The result also means history was made, as it is the first time in English football that four top-flight teams have failed to record a win in their opening eight league games.

Joining Palace in their misery are Wolves and Southampton, who only have one point each to show for their efforts so far.

Meanwhile, 17th-place Ipswich are also winless in their first eight matches, drawing four and losing four.
