Chelsea star wanted by Real Madrid and Liverpool frozen by Blues until he signs new contract

Chelsea have told Josh Acheampong that he will not play for the club until he signs a new contract, talkSPORT understands.

The blues Starlet is one of the highest-rated youngsters at his Cobham academy, but now faces an uncertain future.

The teenage right-back, whose current contract runs until 2026, is understood to have been informed of the conditions surrounding his exile at Stamford Bridge.

The 18-year-old will not play in the Blues' first team or development squad until his long-term future at the west London club is secured.

He has attracted interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool, but talkSPORT understands the Chelsea hierarchy do not want to sell him.

Still, rival clubs may find it difficult to properly scout the youngster, following recent news that Liverpool and another top rival Premier League club have been Banned from attending Chelsea youth team matches. on the Reds' raid for former young blue Rio Ngumoha.

Acheampong has made two senior appearances for the club, with his debut coming last season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Current manager Enzo Maresca brought on the teenage ace for the final 27 minutes of Chelsea's 5-0 thrashing of Barrow in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Acheampong was also on the bench in the UEFA Conference League qualifying second leg against Servette in August.

The majority of his minutes this season have been for Chelsea's under-21 team in Premier League 2, where he has provided one assist in three appearances.

He played nine times for the under-18s last season, as well as in the FA Youth Cup, before embarking on the first team's pre-season tour in the summer.

Chelsea currently have Reece James and Malo Gusto as right-back options in the senior team.

The first is the captain of the club, but he has been injured for most of the season and only returned in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
