Former Real Madrid Academy graduate Nico Paz has long been earmarked for a bright future, but few could have predicted that the playmaker would make waves in Serie A as quickly as he did at Como. The 20-year-old has already earned a call-up to Argentina's national team, though perhaps in part to prevent Spain from making a move for him, as he shares dual nationality.
The blessing of Lionel Messi is a good sign that he has the quality to be here, and already Real Madrid has been linked with a move for him. Paz was pointed by many to make the jump before Arda Guler was signed last season, blocking his way to do this.

The Blancos keep a close eye on him, as per Reliefand have purchase options on him of 9 million euros in 2025, 10 million euros in 2026 and 11 million euros in 2027. They also have a 50% sale clause in their contract. Where the space for him to develop and earn his place in the team is another matter.
Speaking recently in an interview with Sportweek, Paz also returned to his time with the first team at Real Madrid, explaining that after training, the players had shooting competitions. Chain SER delivered his words, including some surprise praise for Rodrygo Goes.
