Liverpool They have reportedly made 'contact' over a deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush, according to transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The 25-year-old has started the new campaign brightly and is currently one of the most in-form forwards in Europe. It is therefore no surprise that he has started to attract the attention of big clubs like the Reds ahead of the upcoming January window.

In 11 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles, the Egyptian scored 10 goals and registered seven assists. He is currently the top scorer in the Bundesliga ahead of Harry Kane and also the top scorer in the Bundesliga.

Now, writing in unknown, Plettenberg claims that Liverpool have begun to show serious interest in signing Marmoush and that they have already held talks with the player's representatives about a possible transfer next year.

The player dreams of playing in the first division and would 'immediately' join Liverpool if the Merseyside club finally formalized their interest.

Marmoush to Liverpool

Marmoush still has over two and a half years left on his current contract, so Frankfurt are in a strong position to demand a big fee for him and want at least £42m.

The African is a versatile forward, as he can be deployed both in the center forward position and on the left wing. He is technically sound, can dribble past opposing defenders in tight areas, has the efficiency to convert his opportunities and also works extremely hard out of possession.

Liverpool are already well stocked on the left, as they have Luis Díaz, Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo. In addition, Arne Slot already has Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota to deploy in the center forward position.

Therefore, they don't need to sign Marmoush unless they take advantage of any of the current options. Instead, with Mohamed SalahWith the club's future currently uncertain, it would be a better decision to sign a new right-back to replace him.

However, it will be interesting to see if the Anfield club finally decide to sign Marmoush in January or next summer to bolster the attacking department.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will face Arsenal in a crucial Premier League fixture at the Emirates Stadium this weekend before facing Brighton and Hove Albion in the EFL Cup next week.
