western ham United are in talks to sign Fluminense striker Jhon Arias in winter transfer window, according to a Brazilian media, RTI Sports.
The 27-year-old rose to fame with impressive performances at the Copa América 2024, where his performances helped Colombia reach the final of the competition. He has been on an excellent run this campaign with 20 goals in all competitions for Fluminense this season.
After a failed attempt to bring the Colombian to the club last summer, RTI Sports He reports that West Ham have resumed talks with the Tricolor to sign the striker.
The Brazilian publication adds that the Hammers have made “new contacts” in recent days with the player's agents as they seek to close the transfer of the Colombian striker.
However, the east London club faces competition from an unnamed French club who have also shown interest in the Colombian, but their interest is not concrete at the moment, according to the report.
The four-time Brazilian champions consider the striker's departure “inevitable” as the club looks to raise more funds to rebuild its finances, according to the report.
Arias to West Ham
Although the Hammers are already in talks with Arias' agents, the club has not yet made an official approach to Fluminense for the player's possible transfer.
