'Well deserved': Jose Mourinho was taken off and injured by one of his own players and the legends can't help but laugh.
Jose Mourinho was hilariously mocked by his former stars after being the victim of a harsh tackle at Fenerbahce training.
The Special One limped off the field, with the help of two coaches, after an accident on the training field Kolo Touré would be proud of.
Mourinho took over as boss of the Turkish giants this summer in a bid to wrest the Super Lig crown from city rivals Galatasaray.
The iconic coach quickly accepted Fenerbahce's ambitious project and was very active with his players on the training ground.
That was no more evident than last week when the former Chelsea and manchester united The manager was involved in a training ground mishap ahead of this weekend's trip to Trabzonspor.
Mourinho was inadvertently brought down by midfielder Ismail Yuksek during a routine training exercise after the pair teamed up.
The Portuguese was unable to finish the session and was seen being taken off the training ground by staff.
Mourinho made light of the incident and posted images of the moment on his Instagram account along with the caption: “Lesson for young coaches. Never wear the same color as the players. They can pass the ball to you… or kick you from behind.” .
He even tagged Yuksek in the post for added humor along with two players he formally managed at Manchester United and Roma respectively: Marouane Fellaini and Marash Kumbulla.
Mourinho has received a lot of comments regarding the video, including some interested observers waiting to put the boot on him.
Former United, Chelsea and Roma Midfielder Nemanja Matic cheekily wrote: “Well deserved.”
Stamford Bridge Legend John Terry and Tottenham hero Robbie Keane also got in on the jokes by writing a host of laughing emojis.
Mourinho recently made headlines after hinting at his next move once his stay at the Istanbul-based club ends.
“The best thing I have to do when I leave Fener is to go to a club that does not play in UEFA competitions,” he said.
“So I'm ready to leave a club at the bottom of England that needs a manager in two years. I don't want to talk about that anymore. I want to talk about the game.”
But until then, Fenerbahce fans can rest assured that Mourinho is committed to bringing success to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
“I sleep at the club so I don't waste time,” he said in an interview in September.
“Istanbul is a beautiful city, but I didn't come on vacation, I came to work. Everyone at the club does this, we have a good work environment.”
Fenerbahce currently occupies third place in the Super Lig standings, eight points behind Galatasaray and with one game in hand.
