Arsenal's progress to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals will have pleased Gunners fans but will have left club bosses with a headache.

Mikel Arteta's side will face Crystal Palace in the next round the week commencing December 16, with Arsenal Host the Eagles to the Emirates as they look to win the competition for the first time since 1993.

However, a clash at Arsenal's home is now on the horizon.

This is because the Emirates will host Arsenal Women's clash against Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday 18 December.

The men's London Cup clash will take place on Tuesday, December 17, but this date is yet to be confirmed.

And any route towards a date solution for the Gunners is currently blocked.

Palace face Brighton on Monday December 16, live on Sky Sports, so it is highly likely that their game with the Gunners will have to be postponed anyway.

the mail report that the Eagles' game against Brighton could be moved to Sunday, but this still wouldn't allow enough time between games.

And since the women's match is played on Wednesday, the space for movement is minimal.

There is not much room for maneuver after that date either, with Arsenal playing Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

That means playing the Carabao Cup Thursday or Friday wouldn't work either, as there wouldn't be enough time to recover.

Arsenal Women will also not be able to play their match at their former home, Boreham Wood's Meadow Park, as it does not comply with UEFA stadium regulations.

However, the Gunners Women, without a coach, could move their Champions League clash to another day.

The Mail report also claims that the decision on the date of the League Cup match between Arsenal and Palace is in the hands of the English Football League.

Arsenal Women have moved to the Emirates permanently for their Women's Super League matches and Champions League group and knockout matches this season.

Fans have already started buying tickets for the match, which have been on sale since the end of September.

It remains to be seen where Arsenal will fit in their Carabao Cup clash, but Arteta relished reaching the next round after beating Preston North End 3-0 on Wednesday.

Speaking about the attitude of his players in the victory against the Championship, he said: “Very good. We talked about that, about playing with enthusiasm in this match, playing with the right attitude and commitment and they certainly showed that, so I'm very happy to be in the quarter-finals.”

While Arsenal face Palace, Tottenham will face Manchester United after beating Manchester City 2-1, while defending champions Liverpool will play Southampton.

Meanwhile, Newcastle will host Brentford.
