Real Madrid have always been considered favorites for the signing of the elite free agent

That would clearly rule out Barcelona for his signature as well. Only Robert Lewandowski and Frenkie de Jong are in similar money, and their salaries have been described as weighing on the club. If the Catalans try to convince Davies to ditch his rivals, money is unlikely to be one of his primary arguments.
