The Swedish international feels more comfortable on the wings, but has done very well in midfield. James Maddison has been playing deeper this season to adapt to the lack of midfield options Postecoglou currently has.

Tottenham want a new midfielder

AC Milan's Reijnders is on Spurs' radar, but the Rossoneri do not want to let him leave the club mid-season and he is more accessible at the end of this season.

The 26-year-old is valued at around £25million per Transfer market and he still has three and a half years left on his current contract. The Italian giants are therefore in a strong position to demand a large sum from him to allow him to leave the club next year.

Reijnders can play in the deep playmaker position, but is also efficient in the box-to-box role. He is dynamic, technically sound, can make passes between the lines, has the ability to contribute with some important goals and is also capable of making defensive contributions.

The midfielder has started the new campaign promisingly, although Milan have been inconsistent so far this season, scoring four goals in all competitions. Furthermore, he has been a key player for Holland in recent times.

Reijnders is a talented player and could be a smart signing for Spurs if they buy him. However, it will be interesting to see if the north London club finally makes a concrete decision to sign the Dutchman to strengthen the midfield department.
