Injury-hit Borussia Dortmund returns to Champions League football after their 2-1 win against RB Leipzig at the weekend and will want to make amends for their 5-2 embarrassment at the hands of Real Madrid last time out.
Dortmund will likely play the exact same team that they fielded against Leipzig, solely because they do not have any other options. The only difference may be Donyell Malen will be handed a start ahead of Jamie Gittens, who he replaced on Saturday.
It was also confirmed in the pre-match press conference that the game comes too soon for Waldemar Anton, which will likely mean that Emre Can will once again partner Nico Schlotterbeck in central-defence. The club captain put in a commanding performance at the weekend against Leipzig, even making the GGFN Team of the Week.
Head coach Nuri Sahin could use the game and give starts to some of the youngsters in the squad. American youth international Cole Campbell has been used off of the bench in recent games, while high rated full-back Almugera Kabar could be brought in to give Ramy Bensebaini a rest as he was suspended for the game against Leipzig.
Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI:
Alexander Meyer – Pascal Groß, Emre Can, Nico Schlotterbeck, Ramy Bensebaini – Marcel Sabitzer, Felix Nmecha – Maximilian Beier, Julian Brandt, Jamie Gittens – Serhou Guirassy
GGFN | Jack Meenan
