Former Liverpool star Jermaine Pennant has uncovered an adjustment Arne Slot has made to transform the club this season.
The Reds have only lost once under their new manager and are currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak.
Slot's team is in first place in both the Premier League and the Champions League, having won all four matches in Europe this season.
According to Pennant, Slot has made a change from the side that his predecessor Jurgen Klopp omitted.
Klopp achieved a third-place finish in his final season as his team faded from the title race during the final weeks of the campaign.
The former Reds winger told Drive: “What I think he's done surprisingly well, and Klopp didn't, is that he's now starting to get the best out of Luis Diaz. “He's contributing a lot of goals now.
“And the transformation of Gravenberch, placing him as number six.
“Klopp missed a trick there because we were playing Endo, no disrespect to Endo, he was just a dead giveaway.
“He can't do what Gravenberch does, cornering and advancing through the midfield.”
Díaz is Liverpool's top scorer along with Mohamed Salah after scoring nine goals in 15 appearances this season.
Meanwhile, Gravenberch He has played every minute in the League and Europe with Slot.
The 22-year-old has become a key man for the Reds in his new defensive midfield role.
In addition to leading the standings nationally and in the Champions League, Slot's team is also among the round of 16 of the Carabao Cup.
