'You will never walk alone' is loved by millions of Liverpool fans around the world for the sense of hope, solidarity and resilience it instills in listeners every time it is played.

But while the Reds may love it, it makes talkSPORT Jason Cundy see red for a very different reason.

The Sports Bar presenter went on the airwaves following Liverpool's impressive 4-0 victory over defending Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Him and the co-host Jamie O'Hara invited those attending the program to analyze another fantastic performance by the Reds, who now remain the only Champions League team to have won all their games so far.

Combine that with Arne SlotLiverpool's excellent record in the Premier League, which they currently lead by two points, and Liverpool fans have been living in a bit of a dreamland until now.

But in response to a fan's assessment of the match, Cundy admitted he was more than a little unhappy at how well the Merseyside team was doing.

“This is starting to bother me, Liverpool,” he grumbled. “It's starting to bother me.

O'Hara was quick to point out that the Reds had upset Cundy even before they achieved another sensational victory, for an oddly specific reason.

“Dude, they were bothering you as soon as I walked in (the office) and you were complaining about the song 'You'll Never Walk Alone'!” said.

“Oh, that 'You'll Never Walk Alone' thing, honestly,” Cundy complained, clearly annoyed by the club's favorite song.

“Just give him the respect he deserves,” O'Hara argued. “It's a success. The comments remain silent. You just have to listen to them and respect them.”

But Cundy was having none of that, as he explained exactly what it was about the anthem that offended him.

“No, I'm sorry,” he began. “Fair enough, Liverpool fans (listening to you), I get it.

“But they subdue all the other football fans. They're all silent. I bet they're all standing on the porch, hands on their hearts. It's not the National Anthem!

“It's fair, Liverpool fans. I get it. It's your club, your song.”

However, O'Hara couldn't understand the level of his anger.

“Why are they bothering you so much?” -he asked Cundy.

“Because they don't do it for any other song,” Cundy said. “But Liverpool annoys me because they are getting results and you can't say they are brilliant, but they keep winning.”

O'Hara told listeners what had happened that same night when he entered the office.

“I'm sitting there having some dinner,” he explained. “I have both games on. I have turned up the volume. It gives you goosebumps. You can't escape it. Anfield, Champions League night.

“It's a great song. Cundy comes in and says, oh, here we go again. That's it. He hates it. Put it on mute, and he's gone!”

Meanwhile, Cundy began making vomiting noises in the background as she continued to blatantly reinforce her serious dislike of the song.

But while Cundy doesn't appreciate the musical genius of Liverpool's anthem, there was one song he quickly suggested he would be happy to listen to.

Cundy said he was much happier dancing with The Liquidator at Stamford Bridge.

Like the dulcet tones of Chelsea's melodious song – The Liquidator began to fill the studio, Cundy quickly shushed her co-host.

“Shut up,” he coaxed. “See? No one stops when this happens at Stamford Bridge. Do we? Everyone's talking about The Liquidator.”

“It's terrible. That's why,” O'Hara laughed. “Who wants to be quiet about this? You never walk alone is a classic. Come on, you have to respect it. You have to respect it.”

“No, no, it's fine,” Cundy responded, refusing to back down. “It's fine if they're Liverpool fans, but not everyone is a Liverpool fan. They've shoved it down our throats.”

But the Chelsea fan admitted there could be another small reason why the song got on his nerves.

“(Liverpool) bothers me because they are very good,” he admitted.

Naturally, having acknowledged his hatred for the song, there was only one thing left to do.

The studio was then filled with a familiar sound like You'll Never Walk Alone. He started playing, especially for Cundy.

Cundy couldn't take off her headphones fast enough when she heard the tune in the studio.

However, the former defender had had enough and quickly removed his headphones, desperate not to hear the song again.

“Tell me when it goes off!” he yelled at the producers as his co-host laughed at him. “Is it turned off?

“Yes, it's off,” a mischievous O'Hara replied.

Of course, it actually wasn't bad at all.

When Cundy put on the headphones and the sound of his least favorite anthem filled his ears, he quickly took off the headphones again and then threw his hands in the air in mock anger while laughing.

Speaking to another Liverpool fan about the same topic later in the show, Cundy once again attempted to justify his reasoning.

“It's played for you in the stadium and that's fine,” he said. “I get it, right?

“And I would appreciate it if it were in the stadium. I would appreciate it. But on TNT they stay silent. Nobody says a word. They lower the microphones. It's as if it were the National Anthem.

“And the whole thing goes on and you're like, okay, I get it. And it goes on. And you're like, okay. And, honestly, you address the crowd. They just shove it down your throat.

“At Anfield, it's fine. And you know what? They don't even care that they go silent every 30 seconds. It's the whole damn song. It's ridiculous.”
