Tottenham Hotspur reportedly taking steps to sign city of manchester star Jack Grealish, according to football transfers.
The Lilywhites have a long-term interest in the England international, having attempted to sign him a few years ago when he was playing in the Championship with Villa Aston. However, they ultimately failed to close the deal.
After remaining at Villa Park at the time, the 29-year-old helped his team to promotion and cement their place in the first division before leaving for Man City in 2021.
Having moved to the Etihad Stadium, Grealish has enjoyed great success over the years, winning every major competition possible. However, he never managed to replicate the same performance for the Citizens that he showed at Aston Villa.
Now, in recent times, it has even been difficult for him to play regularly. So, speculations have started to arise about his future.
Grealish to Tottenham
football transfers They report that Tottenham's sporting director, Johan Lange, has contacted the Englishman to reach an agreement to sign him. The two sides first held talks about a possible transfer in the summer, but Daniel Levy did not want to match his salary demand, so the deal did not go through at the time.
However, Grealish has a good relationship with Lange, with the Dane playing a key role in the striker's move to Manchester City during his time at Villa Park as sporting director. So, that could help the Lilywhites close this deal.
Grealish: valued at around £46m per Transfer market – He still has more than two and a half years left on his current contract. Man City are therefore likely to demand a large fee to allow him to leave the club, but Spurs generally do not spend much on a player, who is the same age as the City star.
The former Aston Villa player has played on the left flank over the years, but is also comfortable in the attacking midfield position and box-to-box role.
Grealish is a top-class player and it would be a huge coup for Tottenham if they were to acquire him. However, it remains to be seen whether Postecoglou's team will finally sign the versatile player next year.
