Manchester United fans have reacted angrily to the news that Darren Fletcher will remain on the club's coaching staff.
The former midfielder maintains his technical position at Old Trafford after the arrival of Ruben Amorim.
It comes despite the Red Devils announcing the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Van Nistelrooy had returned to United in the summer as an assistant Erik ten Hag before serving as interim coach for the final four games.
Meanwhile, Fletcher was replaced as technical director by Jason Wilcox earlier this year.
Since then he has worked as a technical coach, acting as a link between the first team and the youth team.

Reacting to the news on social media, one fan wrote: “How is he still surviving?”
Another added: “How did he survive another trainer? He should have kept Ruud on him.”
A third supporter also commented: “End Ruud but keep Fletcher…”
René Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel also left United following Amorim's arrival.
The incoming coach was photographed on Monday at the training ground after leaving Sporting.
He is He is expected to train for the first time next week. ahead of the trip to Ipswich on 24 November.
However, Amorim's technical team has not yet been confirmed by the club.
As for Fletcher, he returned to the Red Devils in 2020 after hanging up his boots, initially working in the academy before taking on the role of assistant under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The 40-year-old spent 15 years at Old Trafford as a player between 2000 and 2015.
During that time he scored 24 goals from midfield in 342 appearances and won 15 trophies, including the Champions League and five Premier League titles.
His twin sons Jack and Tyler are currently part of the United under-18 team also.
