Louie Barry continued his hot scoring streak in emphatic fashion on Saturday, with another goal for loan club Stockport County sealing a 1-0 victory over Wrexham.

The young forward now has 12 goals in 17 games in all competitions this season for the Hatters, and leads the League One scoring charts with 11 in 16.

Cutting inside onto his right foot with 24 minutes on the clock at Edgeley Park, Barry bent an unstoppable effort past Callum Burton and into the far corner from the edge of the area.

The victory took Stockport up to fourth in League One, one place and one point behind Phil Parkinson’s side. They are five points off the summit, with Barry having netted over 40% of their league goals already this season.

In League Two, Filip Marschall kept a clean sheet as Crewe Alexandra climbed to second with a 2-0 victory at home to Notts County. The Alex are now five points off top, with a game in hand.

The side currently occupying top spot in the fourth tier, Port Vale, won 1-0 on the road at Morecambe. Rico Richards played the final 18 minutes off the bench for the Valiants.

In Spain, James Wright and Finley Munroe were both in action for Real Unión, who fell to a 5-0 defeat at Real Sociedad B in Primera Federación – Group 1.
