Brentford's signing of Tottenham-linked Antonio Nusa for a club record fee has stalled, opening the door for rivals.

It seemed that the end would connect with Spurs with both teams locked up advanced negotiations.

However, the 18-year-old made the surprising decision to join Brentford, although this deal is now in doubt.

It is believed that the original agreement could see nusa loaned again to Brugge for the rest of the season.

But according to The AthleticPrevious agreements on the proposed transfer have not been formalized and the door has been opened to potential rivals, including Tottenham.

Considered one of Europe's best prospects, the teenager has contributed four goals and three assists in all competitions this campaign.

He became the youngest player in Champions League history to score on his debut during the 4-0 win over Porto in September 2022.

The winger has already played four international matches for the Norwegian senior team.

Brentford had agreed a club-record transfer for Nusa worth £23.5m, eclipsing the £23m they paid Wolves for Nathan Collins last summer.

Although it seems unlikely they will meet the Ligue 1 club's asking price of between £30m and £35m.

The 23-year-old led Toulouse to their first French Cup trophy last season, where he scored twice in the final victory over Nantes.

After scoring 18 goals in all competitions in the 2022/23 campaign, the Dutchman has scored ten goals so far this season.

Brentford, who have seen Arsenal and Chelsea target Ivan Toney return to the team, they are eager to strengthen their attack.

Bryan Mbuemo is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, while Yoane Wissa is absent for the African Cup of Nations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
