Juventus are interested in possibly signing Bayer Leverkusen forward Patrik Shick this winter, Kicker reports.
The Czech international has been playing second string to main striker Victor Boniface for the majority of the season so far.
Xabi Alonso appears to like the Nigerian’s ability to play in a variety of ways in comparison to Schick. However, the 28-year-old is not without his pros.
The forward came off the bench to score many crucial goals for B04 last season and was one of the players who were associated with the club’s famous last minute winners.
What’s more, Schick started the previous game against VfL Bochum and scored the opening goal in a 1-1 draw.
A believer in his own ability to score goals and make the starting XI more regularly, Schick is willing to compete with Boniface for a starting position.
However, the option to switch to the Old Lady of Italy could come this winter.
If it becomes inevitable that he will always be second behind Boniface, a transfer could make more sense.
Juventus Interest
Juventus are currently monitoring Schick at B04 and could come in with an offer this January.
In the previous summer window, the Czech would have been allowed to go for a fee of around €20m.
It’s believed that the club will be asking for a similar transfer fee should the 28-year-old leave in the winter.
Juventus currently sit 6th in Serie A but just two points off top spot.
Could Schick make the difference for the Old Lady and land himself a Scudetto come May?
